Historical Data:

Charles A. Jones Career and Education Center (CAJ) was authorized in 1967 and operates under the governance of the State of California Department of Education (CDE) and the Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD).

The Mission of the Charles A. Jones Career and Education Center is to enrich the lives of adults by providing a positive and innovative learning environment for academic and career technical training, empowering adults to become employed, productive members of their communities.


Welcome From the Program Coordinator

Welcome to the Charles A. Jones Career and Education Center, proudly serving adults throughout the Sacramento region with high-quality, affordable career training in areas that are in demand regionally and statewide.

Please accept our invitation to attend one of our Weekly Orientation sessions, held every Wednesday morning beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the school’s multipurpose room. Learn about the wide range of educational and career training opportunities, as well as our full range of Student Support Services. Our campus is home to a Sacramento Works Training Center, the staff of which is ready and eager to assist you as you search for training program to meet your career goals.

There is no other public adult school that has such a rich offering of community partnerships with social service agencies and community-based organizations.

The Charles A. Jones Career and Education Center has served the Sacramento community for over forty years by offering a wide variety of career training programs to meet the ever-changing demands of the local and regional labor market, while providing the skills so critically needed for livable wage jobs.
