ABE/High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation

HSE Prep is an open-ended lab class for students who wish to take the Official HiSET®  Tests and obtain a high school equivalency certificate.  Study is on an individualized basis, and each student has his/her course tailored to their needs.  Students work at their own pace.

Morning classes: 8:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M.  Monday through Friday

Afternoon classes: 12:00 noon-3:00 P.M.  Monday through Friday

Program of Study

English as a Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language classes are offered at Charles A. Jones Career and Education as a tool to help people new to the country attain a better grasp of the English language.  The classes are leveled by the student’s current understanding level.  We offer Beginning Literacy, Beginning Low, Beginning High, Intermediate Low, and Intermediate High.  Classes are offered both in the morning and the afternoon.  Citizenship classes are also offered one afternoon a week for those students at Beginning High level and above who are seeking to attain US Citizenship.
