Just like the GED, the HiSET is a high school equivalency
exam. This test is a great option for those who want to get a
certificate of high school equivalency, and they want to get it
The test consists of five sections; math, science,
reading, writing, and social studies. At the Charles A. Jones
Career and Education Center, we offer the math and science tests
on Mondays, and the reading, writing, and social studies tests on
Fridays (see schedule for available testing days).
Attend program orientation. Orientation is held each
Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. in our multi-purpose room. Doors close at
8:30 a.m. Bring your driver’s license or state issued picture ID.
Take entrance assessment. Assessments are given each
Wednesday after orientation at our facility. Results
are provided immediately upon completion. Assessment score
requirements are listed below by program.

A variety of vocational programs are available to learn job
skills for employment opportunities. Students may begin classes
throughout the year on a scheduled basis as space is available.
Interested persons should thoroughly study this website to learn
about their program of interest. The Charles Jones Career &
Education Center reserves the right to cancel classes due to low
enrollment. Additional supplies or equipment are not included in
the material fees. Material fees and book prices are subject to

registration for HSE or ESL classes. The office will post sign-up
days where you can reserve a seat for the appropriate
test. Once you have signed up for the assessment you will be
given further information on registration.
