2025 - 2026 English Classes are FULL

English classes are offered at Charles A. Jones Career and Education Center to help people new to the country attain a better grasp of the English language. 

We offer all levels of English instruction and students are placed into the appropriate English literacy level according to their combined CASAS reading, CAJ speaking, and CAJ writing assessment score taken during mandatory Orientation and Intake. 

HOW TO GET STARTED:

Classes are offered for 2025-2026:

M/W/F from 8:30 -11:00am

M/W/F from 12:30 – 3:00pm

M/W (multi-level) ONLINE from 5:30 – 8:00pm

T/Th from 8:30 – 11:00am

T/Th from 12:30 – 3:00pm

Classes for 2026-2027 may be different!

Friday will be online assignments to complete BUT you can also come to open lab from 8:30 – 3:00pm.

Leveled Classes:

Pre-Literacy score is 183 or below

Beginning Low score is 184 – 196

Beginning High score is 197 – 206

Intermediate Low score 207 – 216

Intermediate High score is 217 – 227 (student can choose to be enrolled in Adult Basic Education classes or remain in English classes)

Advanced score is 228 – 238

Exit English class and qualify for High School Equivalency test preparation class with a score of 239 or above

There will be no children permitted during testing, orientation, or class.
