Steps to Apply for Federal Financial Aid www.studentaid.gov

STEP 1:

A. Create your FSA ID Account (must be done FIRST)

B. Complete the online FAFSA Application

Student must complete additional steps to apply for Stafford Loans:

• Complete the Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment online at Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment

Look for “Sacramento City Unified School District.”

(Please print out a copy of the completed Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement form for Financial Aid Office)

• Complete Loan Entrance Counseling online at Loan Entrance Counseling You will be asked to notify your school. 

Look for “Sacramento City Unified School District.”

(Please print out a copy of the completed Loan Entrance Counseling form for Financial Aid Office)

• Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at Master Promissory Note

(Please print out copies of completed pages 1-3 of the Master Promissory Note form for Financial Aid Office)

• Complete the CAJ Federal Stafford Loan Request Form attached above and bring it to the CAJ Financial Aid Office with the rest of the forms.

STEP 2: After 3-5 business days from submitting the FAFSA application; Student needs to complete the CAJ Financial Aid Paperwork attached above and bring the completed packet to the Financial Aid Office in order to receive their financial aid voucher for enrollment in CAJ career training programs.

STEP 3: Student takes their financial aid voucher to the CAJ office and enrolls in the CAJ career training program they qualified for.

STEP 4:  The Financial Aid Specialist will complete the final verification process including packaging, certification, and sending out Financial Aid Award letter.
